This 5-day course has been designed to break down the fundamentals of scratching, and teach students the skills they need to advance their own individual styles. The instructors, turntable masters such as 2000 ITF Western Hemisphere Scratch champion, Excess, work with students on the technical side of scratching, along with each scratch’s application in rhythm. This course is perfect for those students interested in working on a battle set, improving their club presence, or performing scratch music.

Prerequisites/Skill Requirements		None
Equipment Requirements		None (all equipment and records provided)
Class Size		30 students (1 student per turntable set up)
Course Length		5 Classes (85-minute class meets daily for one week)
Practice Times		Free. Mon-Thurs 10am-8pm, Fri 10am-7pm, Sun 3-8pm

Private Lessons
If you need to cancel or reschedule your lesson please notify Scratch more than 24 hours in advance to avoid fees. A $25 cancellation fee will be charged, if notification is not made in time. There are no refunds for Private Lessons. To reschedule or cancel your lesson, please call 212-529-1599 ext 300.

Course Cancellation
All course cancellations are subject to a $50 processing fee. Cancellations made after the course begins are subject to a $50 processing fee, plus a pro-rated amount for each class attended. In the event that Scratch DJ Academy cancels a course, the students’ payment will be credited towards the same course offered at a different time. To reschedule or cancel your lesson, please call 212-529-1599 ext 300.

Summer Session Cancellation
All Summer Session cancellations are subject to a $50 processing fee. Any Summer Session cancellations made by Scratch DJ Academy, AFTER students have paid in full will be credited to student in form of Private Lessons equivalent to the number of hours of the course. To reschedule or cancel your lesson, please call 212-529-1599 ext 300.

If you can’t make it to this course, check out future terms at Scratch. New terms start about every 8 weeks.
