This 6-week course is the next step for DJ’s who have completed
DD 101 or are already proficient with basic Serato principles and
want to learn more advanced features. The goal of DD 151 is to prepare
students to perform at gigs and clubs live with the Serato software.
Students will learn how to fully utilize all the features of Serato
to help improve mixing/club sets. At the end of the 6-week course,
students will perform a set using Serato and all the intermediate/advanced
features that are taught in this course. This course does require
that students have a basic/intermediate understanding of mixing DJ
concepts (particularly beatmatching).
Students are not required to bring any equipment to class (you may choose to bring your own
laptop with Serato already installed). All DJ, computer, and Serato supplies will be
provided by Scratch DJ Academy. Each student will be equipped with his/her own
individual workstation with:
- 2 Technic 1200 turntables mixer, a laptop, and Serato.
- 1 Vestax PMC05 ProIII Mixer
- Either a PC or Mac Laptop with all necessary Serato software pre-installed

Prerequisites/Skill Requirements |

Students must have completed DJ 101, DJ 151, and DD 101, or must be proficient in DJ concepts (particularly in mixing and beatmatching) and have understanding of Serato’s basic features. |

Equipment Requirements |

None (all equipment will be provided). Students are allowed
to bring in their own laptops and Serato if they should desire. |

- Brief review of DD 101 concepts
- Intermediate/Advanced techniques in Serato
- How to fully utilize the cue point functions
- In-depth view of 3 modes (Absolute, Relative, Internal)
- The integration of iTunes on the fly
- Advanced looping and creating remixes
- Auto BPM, and auto gain functions
- Recording sets
- Intermediate/Advanced Troubleshooting

Private Lessons
If you need to cancel or reschedule your lesson please notify Scratch more than 24 hours in advance to avoid fees. A $25 cancellation fee will be charged, if notification is not made in time. Course Cancellation
All course cancellations are subject to a $50 processing fee. Cancellations made after the course begins are subject to a $50 processing fee, plus a pro-rated amount for each class attended. In the event that Scratch DJ Academy cancels a course, the students’ payment will be credited towards the same course offered at a different time. To reschedule or cancel your lesson, please call 212-529-1599 ext 300.
Summer Session Cancellation
All Summer Session cancellations are subject to a $50 processing fee. Any Summer Session cancellations made by Scratch DJ Academy, AFTER students have paid in full will be credited to student in form of Private Lessons equivalent to the number of hours of the course. To reschedule or cancel your lesson, please call 212-529-1599 ext 300.
