This 6-week course is designed for individuals who want to dive into beat production and remixing. Students will spend most of class time receiving hands on training in using MIDI sequencing and digital audio editing software. Scratch will supply each student with his or her own individual workstation equipped with a laptop and midi keyboard, and instruction will be available on both PC's and Mac's. At the conclusion of the 6 weeks, each student will leave the course with at least 2 basic beats and several production sequences utilizing the skills they have acquired. This course is ideal for students interested in learning about music production or want to start a career as a producer.

Course Specifics:

Prerequisites/Skill Requirements		None
Equipment Requirements		None. Laptops (both PC and Mac) and MIDI keyboards will be provided. Ableton Live 6.0 software will be provided.
Class Size		8 students (1 student per workstation)
Course Length		6 Classes (70 minute class meets once a week)
Make Up Classes		Yes. Meets 30 minutes before each class to review previous lesson.
Practice Times		Free. Mon-Thurs 10am-8pm, Fri 10am-7pm, Sun 1-5:30pm

Private Lessons
If you need to cancel or reschedule your lesson please notify Scratch more than 24 hours in advance to avoid fees. A $25 cancellation fee will be charged, if notification is not made in time. There are no refunds for Private Lessons. To reschedule or cancel your lesson, please call 212-529-1599 ext 300.

Course Cancellation
All course cancellations are subject to a $50 processing fee. Cancellations made after the course begins are subject to a $50 processing fee, plus a pro-rated amount for each class attended. In the event that Scratch DJ Academy cancels a course, the students’ payment will be credited towards the same course offered at a different time. To reschedule or cancel your lesson, please call 212-529-1599 ext 300.

Summer Session Cancellation
All Summer Session cancellations are subject to a $50 processing fee. Any Summer Session cancellations made by Scratch DJ Academy, AFTER students have paid in full will be credited to student in form of Private Lessons equivalent to the number of hours of the course. To reschedule or cancel your lesson, please call 212-529-1599 ext 300.

If you can’t make it to this course, check out future BM 101 terms at Scratch. New terms start about every 8 weeks. Also check out Scratch DJ Academy Summer Sessions. During Summer Session, all BM 101 course material is covered during an intensive 5-day sessions in July.
