This 6-week course is designed as a beginner’s crash course in digital DJ’ing. DD 101 will focus on teaching the basics of Rane’s Serato, M-Audio’s Torq, and Native Instrument’s Traktor Scratch software and is perfect for individuals who want to learn the basics or are looking to explore the options and advantages in digital DJ’ing. Each student will have his/her own workstation equipped with turntables, a mixer, and computer with the software.
In this course, we will walk students through all of the bells and whistles of each program, as well as give tips and hints on how to use each program to a maximum potential by bringing in special guest DJs who are endorsed or sponsored by the products as well as product specialists from the different companies!
Students will perform various exercises and get a chance to really "test-drive" the products and find out which program might be best for them. This class is recommended for a student who is looking to purchase one of these programs, and/or a student who already has purchased one of these programs. It is also recommended for ALL DJs to get familiar with the different features and functions of the new digital age!
