About The Academy
The Faculty

 
This 6-week course is designed for experienced DJ's who want to develop their skills as turntablists. The course covers advanced beat juggling, advanced scratching techniques, body tricks, and showmanship. The instructors work with t he students on the technical and creative aspects of building advanced exhibition routines. The goal of the class is to develop and record a 3-5 minute battle / turntablism routine. This overview course is ideal for students interested in becoming battle DJ's and Scratch exhibitionists.


Course Specifics:
Prerequisites/Skill Requirements   DJ 202 or intermediate scratching ability
Equipment Requirements   None (all equipment and records provided)
Class Size   11 students (1 students per turntable set up)
Course Length   6 Classes (70-minute class meets once a week)
Make Up Classes   Yes. Monday evenings at 7pm to review previous lesson.
Practice Times   Free. M-F 12-8
