Daft Punk Album Reviews Coming In

Well at this point it’s pretty safe to say that Daft Punk’s “Random Access Memories” is one of the most highly anticipated albums of the year. Luckily for those of us who cannot wait for new music to drop, the album leaked in it’s entirety ahead of the ‘official’ release date. With this early access, reviewers from all over the internet including the music industry big wigs are already weighing in. For the most part, we’re seeing a lot of positive (if not slightly confused) feedback from places like Rolling Stone, MTV and The Guardian.

While it’s always good to get feedback from the ‘pros’, we want to hear what you think! So if you’ve already heard the album or are waiting for it’s official release on May 21st, we want to know what you think. Sound off below!

We are proud to announce our newest partnership with pop-up art gallery specialists Art In FLUX Harlem. On May 8, 2013 we opened our first collaborative exhibit called Harlem Beat bringing a unique melding of music and art to our location in New York City.

Opening night featured amazing work by artists Tyson Hall, Ibou Ndoye, Makebe Rainey and Anya Roz as well as some incredible turntabilism from Scratch NYC instructor DJ Pauly Smallz and certification graduate DJ Gone Rogue. Make sure you come by the Academy during gallery times to check out the art and learn more about the art of DJing!

It includes the work of four Harlem artists; Makeba Rainey, Tyson Hall, Ibou Ndoye, and Anya Roz showcasing a diverse group of artists whose imagination pulses to the beat of their Harlem neighborhoods and is reflected in their work through musical, creative, and historical contexts. These four artists give a glimpse of the influence Harlem has on artists and the creative energy that has always been and continues to bubble and surface in this community. The visual artists will be joined at the opening of HARLEM BEAT on May 8 by Scratch instructor DJ Pauly Smallz.
