From residencies at Limelight to the Tribeca Film Festival and Shaun White's X-Games Gold After Party, DJ Tim Martell has been rocking crowds across the globe since he first started DJing at age 14.
Born and raised in the heart of San Francisco, Hapa spent his younger days in the boy scouts and playing league sports but was always drawn to his parent’s old vinyl records. After trying to put together mixtapes using two cassette tape decks, he got his first set of turntables in high school and began to develop his craft as a DJ.
While attending UCLA, Hapa started DJ City (www.djcity.com) and opened REHAB Projects –a vinyl record and lifestyle clothing store. From there, his DJ career took off. The energy that DJ Hapa brings to his sets, and his skills on the turntables and microphone have allowed him to rock crowds at some of the hottest night clubs across the world. Club Mix in the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, Edge in Hong Kong, and Mood in Hollywood are just a few. Hapa’s musical knowledge has given him the opportunity to spin at private parties for the likes of Carmello Anthony & Busta Rhymes and at exclusive events like Michael Jordan’s Celebrity Golf Tournament in the Bahamas, the NBA All Star Game and at the Rose Bowl.Hapa’s DJ skills and personality also landed him a groundbreaking daily gig on the Emmy-winning Los Angeles Morning News Show on KTLA Channel 5.
In high school, Hapa was diagnosed with Epilepsy and has taken on the role as national spokesperson for the Epilepsy Therapy and Development Project (www.epilepsy.com) which raises money to fund research to find new therapies for people living with Epilepsy.
