Nicole Otero has been DJing for a decade, but music has always been a large part of her life. With both Ecuadorian and Bolivian roots, this native New Yorker started playing piano at the age of six and was accepted into the Laguardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts (FAME). Four years later she entered the Music Technology program at NYU where she studied sound engineering and electronic music.
Nicole first started DJing on “The Move” a radio station, which she founded at WNYU, and was soon performing at hot spots all over NYC including Cielo, Centro Fly, Lotus, Cro Bar, and the Gansevoort Hotel. Internationally, she’s spun at venues in Spain, France, Hong Kong, London, and Belgium. Dance music is her passion, and each of her sets pays homage to the funky and soulful disco sounds of the late ’70s and early ’80s.
Always itching to make her own music, she released her debut single “Sunshine Song” which was featured on Pete Tong’s radio show. She was signed to the UK label CR2 Records, and her debut EP “Lovebreak Series I” can be found on iTunes and Amazon. She is also the owner of Lovebreak Music.
