A proud Brooklyn native, Esquire was in the NYC DJ trenches in the mid to late ’90s, perfecting his turntablist techniques and competing in numerous competitions (D.M.C., I.T.F., Vestax, Guitar Center). Eventually, his skills brought him all the way to Munich, Germany where he represented the U.S. in the I.T.F. World Finals. Most recently he was crowned champ of the Gong DJ Battle (founded by the late great Grandmaster Roc Raida).

While definitely a respected member of the turntablist community, Esquire is also a highly skilled club and performance DJ. He’s held down various residencies in NYC and traveled all over the country performing at large music festivals (South by South West in TX, Bonnaroo in TN, All Points West in NYC). As the 2005 and 2006 tour DJ for the Mountain Dew AND1 Mixtape Tour, he spun in over 30 cities nationwide. A master at reading his crowd, his skills have him entertaining at events for Hugo Boss, GQ, and Details Magazine.

If all that wasn’t enough, Esquire has worked with musical acts like Run-DMC, Kanye West, Slick Rick, Ja-Rule, Ashanti, Busta Rhymes, Kid Capri, Brand Nubian, The Beatnuts, and M.O.P. He’s even been featured in a nationally televised commercial for Toyota.
