Dirty Digits has been rocking the ones and twos since the mid-nineties. Originally from Tallahassee, FL, he got his start as the Program and Urban Music Director of Florida State University’s college radio station. In 2005, his hip hop group, Intellekt & Dirty Digits, were signed to ATF Records in Atlanta, GA. After releasing an album and touring, Digits relocated to NYC in 2007 where he became the tour DJ for Definitive Jux artist Cool Calm Pete and found himself performing at venues all over the Big Apple.
While hip hop is his passion, Digits has the ability to spin everything, from rock to electro to funk to soul and well beyond. In addition to his club gigs, he’s performed at the Guggenheim and even worked with Nintendo. Additionally, he’s collaborated alongside artists like Talib Kweli, KRS-One, Sir Mix-A-Lot, Solange Knowles, Nina Sky, Diplo, Money Mark of the Beastie Boys, and Sugar Ray.
Originally an assistant at Scratch, his talents as a teacher were very apparent. He has the ability to break down any principle –from advanced scratches to mixing tricks–to students and has been a great addition to our faculty team. If all that wasn’t enough, he also is quick to give back to the music community and has been the go-to DJ for the charity organization Black Girls Rock!, Inc for over two years.
