S 202 gave you a great scratching base, and S 303 will continue to build on the number of scratches at your disposal. The course is dedicated to developing your timing, syncopation and combinations. Simply put: we will make you quicker, more precise and more controlled. Along with a vast improvement in your scratching ability the S 303 offers an introduction into the battle aspect of DJing. As a S 303 student you will put together a battle routine that incorporates beat juggling as well as advance scratch patterns.

Completion of the S 202 course at Scratch or an instructor evaluation that shows you understand the fundamentals of scratching.
If you have your own equipment we encourage you to bring it (especially your headphones), but if not you just need yourself and your desire to learn.
Are records and music provided for you in class?
Students are encouraged to bring their own music (Analog or digital) so that they can be creative with music they like and know. We also have a music library that students can use to find music for their sets if they choose to.
I have Serato/Traktor. Can I utilize it in the S303 class?
Yes, although a digital platform is not necessary in this class, we do encourage our students that have equipment to bring it in for certain lessons in the S303 class. For example if you can not find two vinyl copies of a song you want to work on a routine with, you might want to find an mp3 version and incorporate it into a digital platform.
I am more into the mixing and party aspect of DJing. Is S 303 the course for me?
The S 303 is a great course for DJs that are interested in becoming well-rounded DJs. If parties and mixing are your main focus then we recommend taking the S202. The S202 is a great course for all DJ to help spice up their mixes and party sets. If you have completed S 202 you can still take the S 303, it will only enhance your skill set as a DJ.
I am interested in one day entering a competition. Is the S 303 the class for me?
Yes, whether you are new to the battle scene or an experienced DJ looking to clean up some bad habits the S 303 is perfect for DJs interested in entering a competition or putting together a battle routine.
