- Basic Scratching Techniques
- Music Theory & Song Structure
- Equipment Set Up
- Intermediate Mixing Techniques

We have everything you need for the first course! If you have your own equipment we encourage you to bring it in (especially your own headphones), but if not, you just need yourself, your passion for music, and songs for your final performance.
Intensive students will also have the opportunity to utilize the record library at the Academy to put their set together. If you are already using a software program like Serato Scratch Live or Traktor Scratch, you may want to bring this as well.
Will I be able to start mixing my own favorite songs after this course?
Absolutely! The intensive course gives you the tools you need to be able to break down your favorite songs and put them together, you’ll even do a final set performance and get feedback at the end.
Can I use Serato if I take the intensive course?
Yes! We incorporate the digital element of DJ’ing in this course as we progress your fundamental skills and understanding.
Will I be able to practice in the studio outside of class?
Yes! One of the advantages of being a Scratch student is utilizing the studio hours to practice. Inquire at your local Academy for a schedule of available practice times.
What class do I take after DJ INT?
