This Month in DJ History
February marks the 28th year of the World DMC Championships. Beginning as a DJ mixing competition in London, DMC’s quickly spread around the globe, playing an integral part in establishing turntablism as an art form and putting scratch DJs on the map. The competition continues to develop with each passing year, including the announcement of an online anything goes style competition. Preliminary rounds for both live and online competitions are starting soon!

Holding a residency at NYC’s legendary Limelight by age 19, Tim Martell is truly a DJ’s DJ. Over the past decade, he’s expanded his music library to include tracks of all flavors, setting himself as a leader in cross-genre mixing. Traveling the globe, Tim has worked with MTV, AND1, Beyonce, the X-Games, Nike, NBC, the New York Jets, and Gucci on top of his numerous club gigs around NYC. Tim’s superior mixing abilities are also reflected in the success of his students at Scratch.
