This 6-week course is designed for the more advanced DJ interested in working on his or her scratching. The course is set up as a workshop/class where students review turntablist fundamentals, learn advanced techniques and explore the latest combinations, terminology and technology. This course is ideal for those looking to take their scratching skills to the next level, as students will work in a smaller classroom setting with world famous DJ’s such as I.Emerge and DJ Excess.

Course Specifics:

Prerequisites/Skill Requirements		DJ 202 or intermediate scratching ability
Equipment Requirements		None (all equipment and records provided)
Class Size		12 students (2 students per turntable set up)
Course Length		6 Classes (70-minute class meets once a week)
Make Up Classes		Yes. Meets 45 minutes before each class to review previous lesson.
Practice Times		Free. Mon-Thurs 10am-8pm, Fri 10am-7pm, Sun 3-8pm

Skills Covered:
• Advanced hand to record and hand to fader technique
• Basic scratch fundamentals (Forwards, stabs, chops, etc.)
• Slide and tap transforms
• Chirps, flares, orbits, crabs
• Whips
• Scratch combinations
