Reg E. Gaines, Tony nominated writer of Bring Da’ Noise, Bring
Da’ Funk, is the host of the Scratch DJ Academy Symposiums held
in New York and on the road for the Scratch DJ Academy College
Symposium Tour. Reg also leads the Scratch Theatrical division.

Grandwizzard Theodore
Instructor for classes: DJ 101, 303
Who better to learn scratching from than the inventor of the
scratch, GrandWizzard Theodore. GrandWizzard Theodore is known
worldwide for his role in the advancement of turntable manipulation
having invented both the "scratch" and the "needle
drop" techniques. In addition to teaching at Scratch, he
still finds time to hold down spots across the city and work
on his upcoming album, Hip Hop Headz.

Rob Swift
Instructor for classes DJ 101, 151, 152, 202
Born in Jackson Heights, Queens, but now known all over the
world, Rob Swift was on of the original members of the X-Men
(now X-Ecutioners) and has established himself as one of the
top turntablists in the world. After being crowned 1992 East
Coast DMC Champion, he has gone on to tour the world, release
solo albums, score video games, and even released a groundbreaking
documentary on turntablism, entitled “As the Tables Turn”.
If you can’t catch him on tour, you can always see him
dropping his DJ knowledge to students at Scratch.

Beverly Bond
Instructor for classes Dj 101, 151, 152
Known as “the DJ’s favorite DJ”, Beverly Bond
has emerged as one of the most prominent DJ’s in the country.
A former Wilhelmina Model, Bond is the only female member of
the Heavy Hitter DJ Collective (which includes Kanye West and
DJ Enuff) and has won a Justo Mixtape Award for Best Female
DJ. She is known for her ability to blend effortlessly eras
and genres to create an unrivaled party vibe. You can now find
her passing on her extensive DJ knowledge to students at Scratch.

I.Emerge
Instructor for classes: DJ 101, 202, 303
A gifted DJ and teacher, I.Emerge has taken the skills that
have won him
6 national and 2 world titles ranging from ITF to DMC and
teaches a generation of aspiring battle DJ’s. A member
of Fader Ballistics and the 5th Platoon, he is now aiming
to take DMC world title in the Fall.

Grandmaster Caz

One of the true hip hop pioneers as a member of the Cold Crush
Brothers, Caz is now teaching at Scratch to continue the hip
hop movement that he helped start.

J-Smoke
Instructor for classes: DJ 101, 151, INT
One of the original members of the world famous Allies, J-Smoke
has recently taken on the role of Master Instructor at Scratch
DJ Academy . Having established himself on the international
turntablist stage (1999 ITF World Team Champion and 2000 DMC
World Team Finalist), J-Smoke now spends his days teaching,
making mixtapes, and publishing Tablist magazine--the first
magazine dedicated to the hip-hop DJ culture.

Excess

A former USA ITF Scratch champion, Excess now spends his time
teaching future scratch DJ’s the scratch skills they need
to improve their club and battle sets. When he’s not at
Scratch, he is running his well-respected record label Stylus
Wars.

Daddy Dog

Part of the 5th Platoon, Daddy Dog is an incredibly versatile
DJ who has excelled on the battle, club and mixtape scene. When
he’s not on tour or busy in the studios, he’s sharing his expertise
with Scratch students. After touring on the MTV Campus Invasion
and VW Music Ed Tours, he is now busy working on his next mixtape.

Todd Mallis

Every couple of years, a new DJ emerges onto the scene as the
hot new DJ, spinning at the coolest spots and the most exclusive
parties. Todd is that DJ. At Scratch, he shares his knowledge
of how to break into the club scene and how to rock it while
you're there.

Suga Ray
Instructor for classes:
DJ 101
Born in Jamaica and raised in the U.S., Suga Ray has an incredible
knowledge of music and is comfortable flipping records from
nearly any genre. When he is not rocking some of NYC’s hottest
bars and clubs with his incredible sets, Suga Ray can found
at Scratch and on tour passing on his knowledge of scratching
and mixing techniques.

Jesse Felluss

With three national tours and a host of high-profile gigs under
his belt, Jesse Felluss has emerged as one of the country's
most talented and versatile DJ's. Possessing the ability to
rock parties, showcase, and produce incredible mixtapes, Jesse
enjoys sharing his wide-ranging knowledge with the students
at Scratch.

Mista Sinista

A former member of the X-ecutioners, Mista Sinista now spends
much of his time teaching and touring with Scratch. Currently,
he is focusing on his soon to be released, Free At Last.

DJ Evil Dee (Da Beatminerz)
Instructor for classes: DJ 101, 151
A member of Black Moon and the Beatminerz, Evil Dee is an inspiration
to every student who has ever thought about using their DJ know-how
to become a cutting-ege producer. When he's not at the Academy
showing students how to make beats, he's producing for some
of the biggest artists out there, including Eminem, Talib Kweli,
Busta Rhymes, Smiff n Wessun, and more.

Tim
Martell
Instructor for classes: DJ 101, 151
Tim has been rocking NYC clubs since he was a teenager (at 19,
he held the main floor residency at the legendary Limelight).
From hip-hop to funk to 80’s, Tim is particularly known for
his ability to mix together seamlessly a variety of musical
genres. Over the years, he’s had the opportunity to DJ alongside
Prince Paul, DJ Enuff, Tony Touch, and more.

Noumenon
Instructor for classes: DJ 101, 151
Originally born in Albany, NY, Noumenon established his DJ career
in the southeastern United States. In 2005 he returned to New
York and took over as the resident DJ at the Paramount Hotel.
His diverse skill set has enabled him to share the stage with
the likes of DJ Qbert and the Roots. He even creates his own
original work through his company Mussgroov Productions.

Luv Bug Starski
Instructor for classes 101, 151
The first DJ to ever rock a stadium venue, Luv Bug Starski is
living history and largely responsible for making the hip hop
DJ what it is today. Using every tool at his disposal, he is
one of the few DJ’s who is able to both DJ and MC for
the crowd at the same time. While he is constantly traveling
and rocking party’s for different clients and clubs, he
still finds time to bring his old school style into the classroom.

DJ Jolene
Instructor for classes: DJ INT, 151, Electronic Music Workshop
San Francisco native, DJ Jolene has been churning out her blend
of house rhythms for over a decade now. Her funky deep house
tunes have infected almost every corner of her adopted hometown
of NYC. Jolene is a master of the house sound and even has a
global audience addicted to her selections through her internet
radio station, Digitally Imported House.

DP One

A founding member of the Turntable Anihilists crew, DP One is one of Hip Hops most up-and-coming talents. As a thorough practitioner of the Hip-Hop culture art forms, DP One manifests himself through DJ’ing, emceeing, and breaking. DP is always generous with his time at the Academy for the betterment of the art form.

DJ Sabo
Instructor for classes: DJ 151
Part of the Turntables on the Hudson crew, DJ Sabo is a master
mix DJ, able to rock the party no matter the type of music.
When not playing around the city or in Europe, Sabo can be found
at the Academy teaching a future generation of DJ’s.

Max Glazer

Who better to learn about club DJ’ing from than one of the most
popular and hardest working DJ’s in New York City. A NYC fixture,
Max can be found rocking the hottest clubs in the city and spinning
the biggest celebrity parties, from P Diddy’s to Donatella Versace’s.
When not in New York, he is usually traveling around the world
showcasing his talent.

Roli Rho

90’s and a legendary member of the 5th Platoon, Roli now gets

Kuttin Kandi

Not only is Kandi one of the best female battle DJ’s in the
world she is one of the best battle DJ’s, period. The only
female ever to advance to the USA DMC finals, she now spends
her time managing artists, making beats and inspiring a new
generation of female DJ’s at Scratch.

DJ Whatt
Instructor for classes: DJ 151
DJ Whatt, born in Brooklyn, has been involved within the electronic
music scene since 1996. He started as a DJ and today is the
proud owner of EMUOR, Electronic Music Under One Roof, a label
which is sold and distributed worldwide. When DJ Whatt is not
producing killer remixes or spinning at top electronic music
venues, you can find him helping students at Scratch.

John Day

A great club DJ who specializes in spinning Rock, John also
spends his time performing at Scratch DJ Academy events nationwide
and teaching future DJ’s how to scratch, mix, and blend.

D Jay Jung
Instructor for classes: DJ 101
First rocking the crowd at the young age of 15, the former house
dj transitioned into the hip-hop and reggae genres, racking
up credentials left and right. Since 1995, (d)jay jung has possessed
the unique ability to motivate the crowd, known for linking
the past and the present jams into an overall soundtrack of
every venue he has come across. Either it be the nightclubs
of New York City, the studios of college radio stations, or
even along the tracks of NJ's Englishtown Raceway, Jay Jung
has been a rising personality on the 1's and 2's.

Voted 2005’s best club DJ by the Miami Times, DJ Irie
is one of the most visible and accomplished DJ’s in the
Miami area. When Irie’ s not teaching aspiring DJ’s
at Scratch, You can hear him three days a week on Miami’s
99Jamz or find him at on of his many residencies at South Beach’s
hottest clubs.

A three time DMC world champion battle DJ, Craze is known for
his mind blowing routines and mesmerizing body tricks. With
constant tours to Europe and Asia, Craze’s incredible
DJ skills have him have taken him all over world.

DJ Edgar V
Instructor for classes: DJ 101,151
As one of the premiere electronic DJ’s in the country,
DJ Edgar V has opened shows for Paul Oakenfold, played alongside
Paul Van Dyk, and energized dance halls in some of Miami’s
most infamous clubs. Since he started performing in the early
1990’s, Edgar has acquired numerous residencies and received
praise from the industry’s most talented and successful
dance music leaders. Over the past fifteen years, DJ Edgar V
has been on the forefront of Miami’s dance music scene.
When he’s not performing or touring all over the world,
Edgar can be found passing his knowledge to students at Scratch.

Immortal

DJ Immortal is the Director of Scratch DJ Academy -– Miami
as well as one of the Academy’s head instructors. When
Immortal is not running the day to day at Scratch Miami, he’s
rocking the party circuit throughout the Florida area, focusing
on music production and putting out banging mix tapes.

K-Razor
Instructor for classes: DJ 151, 202, 303
K-Razor’s name truly signifies his DJ style: his skills
are sharp, and his scratches will cut you up like a razor. Over
the years, he has competed and placed in various battle competitions
and toured with the likes of Lil’ Flip, Noreaga, Phatlip,
Monica, and many more. Despite his hectic schedule, K-Razor
does all he can to impart his turntablist wisdom to students
at Scratch DJ Academy.

NVS
Styles
Instructor for classes: DJ 151, 202, 303
If frequent nightlife gigs, featured radio and TV appearances,
and DJ battle competitions (he entered and won his first battle
at the age of 17) weren’t enough, NVS Styles has also
worked with stars like 2pac, Lil’ Jon, Trick Daddy, and
Pit Bull and was even the official DJ for the 2005 MTV Video
Music Awards pre and after parties. On top of all these credentials,
now you can consistently find him spreading his knowledge to
new DJ’s at Scratch DJ Academy.

I-Dee

There is no stopping DJ I-Dee. He’s not even 20 years
old and has already established himself as a premier turntablist
–winning an unprecedented 3 regional turntablist titles
in less than a year. In 2005 he became a US DMC Champion and
earned himself a trip to London for the 2005 World DMC Finals.
As he continues to perfect his turntable craft, I-Dee strives
to help new up-and-coming DJ’s as an instructor at Scratch
DJ Academy.

B-Side
Instructor for classes: DJ 151, 152
B-Side has spun at the hottest clubs in over 26 countries including
Australia, Japan, Holland, U.K., Germany, and numerous locations
in the U.S., Canada, and Latin America. After DJ’ing for
19 years, B-Side has headlined music festivals, held residencies
in top Miami clubs, and expanded the DJ universe. If all this
wasn’t enough, you can now find him teaching his mixing
skills to students at Scratch.

Dee Jay K-N-S is not your ordinary turntablist. He can scratch
with the best of them and can also finesse a beat. K-N-S (a.k.a.
DIWREK) has hosted a plethora of events, been on radio shows,
flown to various countries to showcase his talent, produces,
engineers sound, and hosted one of the first underground hip
hop shows in South Florida. Currently sponsored by Rane &
Serato, K-N-S also runs Diwrek Hit Studios in downtown Ft. Lauderdale.

A Chicago native who now lives in Miami, DJ Self Born is one of
the hottest DJs in the country. Known for his incredible versatility,
Self Born has truly done it all……from radio, to clubs, to live
performances. His DJ skills have taken him all over the world,
performing with the likes of 50 Cent, Jay-Z, and Wu Tang Clan.
When he can take time off from his busy schedule, you can find Self
Born helping students at Scratch.

Originally from California, Ruin has become one of the top club
DJ’ s in Miami and spins all over south Florida. He also
produces, releases mixtapes, and is an instructor at Scratch

Having DJ’d for only 7 years, Fuse has already made multiple career accomplishments including opening up for artists like Llyod Banks, Young Buck, Rick Ross, Trick Daddy, Young Gunz, and Digital Underground and winning battles throughout Florida. When Fuse isn’t teaching at Scratch, he's focusing on music production and track engineering or spinning at one of the hottest clubs in south beach.

Mr. Choc
Instructor for classes: DJ 101, 151
Although a member of the Beat Junkies since'96, you probably
wouldn't recognize Los Angeles turntablist Mr. Choc as one of
the more powerful DJ's in hip-hop. Mr. Choc's unique style has
won him such accolades as Best Rap Radio Show at the 2000 Gavin
Music Conference and DJ of the year at the Mix Show Power Summit
in 2000. When he's not teaching students the basics of DJ'ing,
this Power 106 mix-show coordinator, assistant music director
and mix-show DJ can be found co-producing Soundbombing III with
Cipha Sounds.

Jahi Sundance
Instructor for classes: DJ 101
A classically trained musician, Jahi is able to take complex
DJ theory and make it accessible to aspiring club and mixtape
DJ’s. When not teaching and touring for Scratch, Jahi is usually
traveling around the world as the DJ for Meshell Ndegeocello,
and other top acts like Talib Kweli and Mos Def.

Hapa
Instructor for classes: DJ 101, 151, 152
Hapa is the Director of Scratch DJ Academy LA as well as one
of the Academy’s head instructors. When Hapa is not running
the day to day at Scratch LA, he’s rocking the party circuit
throughout Los Angeles and performing with up and coming acts
such as Far-East Movement and Watts City’s own, Stix. In addition,
you can also see Hapa jumping out of planes, flying planes,
and racing everything he can on the International Channel’s
new show X-Bytes.

Faust

In 1998, Faust made history with the ground-breaking release
of the first full-length, all-scratching album, the critically
lauded "Man Or Myth" (Bomb Records). Appearing in numerous publications,
Faust has been ranked as one of the top 5 turntablists by Spin
Magazine, featured as a notable innovator in the critically
acclaimed documentary "Scratch" & his visionary approach to
music has made him a turntablist icon earning him worldwide

The 1st female to release a solo turntablist album, "The Dreamer"
(1999), "Fever/Buzz Battle of the DJ" champion, & only female
to produce an instructional DJ DVD series, Shortee is one of
the most diverse & technically skilled female DJs in the world.
Featured in countless magazines & ranked in Urb's Next 100 (2001),
her contribution to the art of turntablism earned her a spot
as the only female DJ featured in the critically acclaimed documentary
"Scratch". Solo & jointly w/ her husband DJ Faust, she's produced

Denkym
Instructor for classes: DJ 101, 151, 152
Deeply rooted in music his whole life, Denkym grew up learning
how to play the piano, violin, the drums, and guitar. Since
touching turntables for the first time in 1999, however, Denkym
has put down his other instruments and has been completely focused
on DJ'ing. When not teaching at Scratch DJ Academy - LA, Denkym
is always mixing and scratching it up in the Los Angeles Hip-Hop
and club scene. Denkym is also known for starting a top rated
hip-hop radio show called Urban Kinetics at USC's student-run
station, KSCR Radio; where he eventually became Hip-Hop Director.
Since graduating from USC with a degree in Business, Denkym
has branched out into producing tracks for local hip-hop artists
in addition to being an instructor for Scratch LA.

Matter
Instructor for classes: DJ 101, 151
Born and raised in Los Angeles, Matter quickly learned from
the best DJ’s in the world. He touched turntables for
the first time in 1998 and hasn’t taken his hands off
since. When Matter spins he feels it’s his obligation
to teach the crowd something new about music and let them hear
something they’ve never heard before. Aside from just
playing turntables, Matter has also taught himself to play bass,
drums, percussion, and keyboards and started producing hip-hop
in 2000. Matter is currently recording and playing with 4 bands.

Dynamix
Instructor for classes: DJ 202
Since his start in 1999, Dynamix has made many accomplishments
including winning battles, gaining recognition at various scratch
conferences, and headlined hip-hop shows alongside acts like
KRS-One, Del the Funkee Homosapien, Jaylib, Common, and made
a name for himself in the Los Angeles Hip-Hop scene. By his
first month, Dynamix had already mastered mixing, and by his

Mike C
Instructor for classes: DJ 202
As a member of LA's acclaimed Top Rawmen DJ crew, Mike C's tour
of duty in the battle scene included a trip to the 1999 ITF
US Finals, where he placed second. He has since branched out
into mixtapes, the club DJ'ing scene, and production for hip-hop
artists.
